Rowntree Park will reopen to the public soon after being closed for three months due to flooding.
It is set to open on Monday (11 March) following a major clean-up operation.
The park has been underwater several times during a winter of flooding.

After the floodwaters receded they left silt and mud deposits across the park. And further heavy rainfall meant it stayed sodden underfoot.
City of York Council and the Friends of Rowntree Park have been working hard to get it back open.
Abigail Gaines, charity manager at the Friends of Rowntree Park, told YorkMix: “The current situation is that the lakes are back to normal, but the ground is saturated, and the paths need clearing.

“City of York Council told me that the park reopening date is provisionally Monday 11 March. This is based on hopefully getting paths cleared and safer plus the ground having time to dry out a little.”
Volunteers are helping at clean-up events tomorrow and Saturday (8 and 9 of March), where anyone can join in. For more information, follow this link.
Rowntree Park has been much missed by York residents, offering as it does everything from the pond, children’s play area, skating park, and long, sprawling pathways for dog walkers.
