Fancy going head to head against a Traitor?
York will once again play host to the largest board games convention the city has ever seen. From Friday 24 to Sunday 26 October, hundreds of players will descend on the city for a full weekend of fun, strategy, and rolling dice at the York Board Games Convention.
Joining the festivities will be some very special guests – including Wilfred Webster and Ivan Brett from BBC’s The Traitors.
Acclaimed RPG designer Grant Howitt, known for Honey Heist and Spire, will also be in attendance.
The York Board Games Convention will take place at St Peter’s School in York.
Attendees can look forward to a huge games library, giant games, a bring and buy sale, a packed schedule of RPG sessions (including Dungeons & Dragons), and even a convention-wide treasure hunt, as well as lots of Social Deduction escapades brought to YBGC by Chance & Clockers.
“We’re so excited to be doing this again,” said Ryan, one of the organisers. “Last year we had so much fun that we knew we had to do it again, bigger and better!”
This year’s event has expanded significantly, with more space, more exhibitors, and a strong focus on inclusivity. One of the biggest changes is free tickets for anyone aged 16 or under.
“Accessibility is a huge priority for us,” added Matt, another organiser. “That means ensuring our venue is wheelchair-friendly and welcoming to neurodiverse players – and also making it more affordable for families by letting young people attend for free.”
The event will feature exhibitors from across the UK, including Hachette Boardgames UK, HullaBailu, The Moonshine Adventure Company, S C Games, Wayfarer Games, Play it Forward Prints, and more.
Food, drink, and family-friendly spaces will all be available throughout the weekend.
Tickets start from £25 and are available via the York Board Games Convention website.
