Get a taste of the Arabian Gulf at Spark York.
Over the summer, Waqif Arabian Kitchen hosted a series of pop-ups at Spark – and now the venue has announced that they’ve moved in for a three-month residency.
Inspired by the rich flavours and aromas of the Arabian Gulf, Waqif Arabian Kitchen will be serving up dishes like shawarma bowls, kofta, loaded hummus, and slow-cooked stews.

Founder and chef Tom was inspired to start Waqif Arabian Kitchen by his upbringing, as he spent a decade of his life living in Qatar and developed a deep appreciation for both Arabic and Levantine cuisine.
Tom is joined in Unit 3 at Spark by long-time friend, Rosa – and they’re ready to introduce a new wave of Arabian-inspired dining to York.
“After a successful stint of pop-ups over the summer, we knew this is where we wanted to be,” Tom told YorkMix.
“We’ve got along so well with the Spark staff and the other traders, it was a no brainier when the opportunity to move in permanently came our way!”
