A crash on a main road that caused severe delays into York this morning (Tuesday) has been cleared.
It was on the westbound carriageway of the A1079 Hull Road close to the junction with Common Lane, near the Esso Garage.
Reports say a motorcycle may have been in collision with another vehicle.

Emergency services went to the scene.
The route was already congested owing to the temporary closure of the bridge at Stamford Bridge and the roadworks controlled by temporary traffic lights on the A1079.
The AA said there were ‘severe delays’ on the westbound carriageway during rush hour.
Now though the crash has been cleared and the road is back to normal.
