Woman taken to hospital after being cut free from two-car crash near Selby

A woman was hurt in a two-car crash in North Yorkshire today (Friday).

Emergency services were called to the incident at Cawood near Selby at 11.03am.

A a Toyota Rav 4 sports utility vehicle and a VW Touran had collided.

Firefighters from York and Tadcaster cut free a woman in her sixties from the wreckage.

They helped her into the ambulance on a spinal board.

A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crews used cutting equipment, small tools, sharps protection and crewpower to deal with the incident.”
