Woman rushed to hospital after suspected drink spiking incident at a York bar

A woman was rushed to hospital after her drink is believed to have been spiked at a bar in York city centre.

The woman, aged in her 30s, was taken ill after drinking at Yates Wine Lodge on Church Lane.

It happened at about 7pm on Saturday (6 May).

A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “We are currently investigating a suspected drink spiking incident which occurred in Yates Wine Lodge.

“Following the incident, a woman in her thirties was taken to hospital where she received treatment.

“Officers are issuing a CCTV image of a man who they would like to speak to in relation to the incident.

“We are asking members of the public to get in touch if they recognise the man in the image as they believe he could have information which will help with the investigation.”
