Light aircraft crashes on landing in North Yorkshire

Emergency services were called to a light aircraft crash in North Yorkshire today (Saturday).

It happened at Long Hill, Helperthorpe, near Malton, at 1.22pm.

A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crews from Scarborough, Malton and Filey responded to reports of a single propeller light aircraft that had flipped over on landing with one person trapped inside.

“Crews used high pressure airbags to create space and crew power to extricate the casualty.

“Crews made the scene safe and the casualty was left in the care of the ambulance.”
