These pictures reveal how a new York riverside café will look – and people love it

This could be a fabulous place to go, particularly in the summer sunshine.

And the pictures are set to become a reality after York Marina was given planning permission to add the Winter Garden café and restaurant.

YorkMix reported in January that the Marina wanted to extend the facilities in order to create new revenue streams.

Lots of window space for a great view

The owners said the new restaurant would be a “high spec, slim frame, aluminium and glass ‘winter garden’ restaurant”.

It will cater for up to 130 diners, and come complete with new bar, offering great views of the River Ouse from the Naburn site.

This month planners gave the go ahead for the development, and now the marina has shared more images of how it will look.

They hope to start work on the project in September.

And people can’t wait to go. “Great news – looking forward to spending time in there,” wrote one person.

Another said: “Certainly moved on from the old coffee percolator Mr Poole had and three chairs. Looks brilliant, can’t wait.”
