A York bin lorry caught fire in York this afternoon (Friday).
It happened in Acomb at about 12.15pm.
A fire crew from Acomb, accompanied by an appliance from Wetherby, went to the incident, said to be in the back of the lorry.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “The staff on the lorry had extinguished the fire prior to the arrival of the fire service but escorted the vehicle back to its base as a precaution.”
