Rail operators have released timetables for reduced services tomorrow (Saturday 13 August), when members of the train drivers’ union Aslef go on strike.
Aslef members will walk out of nine train companies for 24 hours, crippling large parts of the network, with some parts of the country having no services.
The strikes will hit Avanti West Coast, CrossCountry, Greater Anglia, Great Western Railway, Hull Trains, LNER, London Overground, Southeastern and West Midlands Trains.
Here’s a breakdown of the impact across the rail operators in our area.
LNER (London North Eastern Railway)
First and last train from York
Northbound
First train: 09:55 to Edinburgh Waverley
Approximately one northbound train every two hours between 09:55 and 19:45
Last train to Edinburgh Waverley: 16:54
Last train to Newcastle: 19:45
Southbound
First train: 08:32 to London King’s Cross
No further trains between 08:32 and 09:57, then an hourly service between 09:57 and 18:58
Last train to London: 18:58
CrossCountry
CrossCountry will not run any services on Saturday.
Hull Trains
One service to & from London King’s Cross will run. Download the timetable here.
Northern
Although services are running as normal, strikes affecting other operators could make trains busier than normal.
More strikes coming
Aslef said that drivers on strike on Saturday have not had a pay increase for three years.
The union is also balloting drivers at Chiltern Railways, Northern Trains and TransPennine Express for strikes, with the results due later this month.
Members of the RMT and TSSA unions will strike on 18 and 20 August 18.
