A car hit a tree in York last night, trapping one person inside,
It happened on Melrosegate with emergency services called in at 7.58pm.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crews from Malton and Easingwold responded to a report of a single vehicle road traffic collision in which the car had collided with a tree trapping one casualty in the rear of the vehicle.

“Crews carried extricated the casualty from the vehicle and handed them into the care of ambulance crews.”
Local residents have been warned that the crash left a hole in the fence of Melrosegate Field if they are walking their dogs there today.
