A must-visit attraction for Halloween... If you're brave enough!
I LOVE Halloween... To be honest, I prefer it to Christmas!
One of the things I look forward to the most every year is York Maze's Hallowscream.
If you've never been before, it's basically a walk-around scare attraction featuring themed 'Scare Houses' with live actors jumping out at you at every opportunity.
Hallowscream has won many awards over the years, including "Best UK Scream Park" and you can see why. The details on each house are second-to-none and the actors really do give it their all.
It's not just inside the scare houses where the actors roam; be prepared to be chased around the whole attraction by chainsaw-wielding maniacs and rougue aliens. No one is safe!
Now, the truth is, I'm a screamer. I mean, I scream a LOT when people jump out at me, so by the time I've visited all the houses, my voice is pretty much gone. Watch this video to see what I mean...
This year, there are five 'Scare Houses' to explore:
Corney's Cornevil, The Flesh Pot, The Singularity, Necropolis and Redneck's Revenge.
Even if you've been before, there's always something new within each attraction, so expect the unexpected.
As well as the scare houses, there are also live shows, fairground rides and food and drink (to calm the nerves!).
New for 2025 is Lucifer's Lounge, where the Prince of Darkness will welcome you with enticing drinks. This costs a little extra, but does get you away from the crowds.
