It will serve ‘good honest burgers to York’ – starting next week.
The Confessional is a new restaurant which is opening at the Vangarde shopping park.
It has taken over the unit previously occupied by Frankie & Benny’s, opposite the Marks and Spencer food hall.
The Confessional is a ‘burger trading group’, established in 2020, which also has a restaurant in Durham.
It specialises in Aberdeen Angus burgers, retailing at £8.95-£9.95. There are also two vegetarian burgers and one vegan version.
Other mains include a traditional American hot dog (£8.95). All are served with skin-on fries.
Food is available for delivery, and via the outdoor seating area. Drinks include craft beer.

The Confessional opening is some positive news for Vangarde, which was dealt a big blow with the loss of John Lewis announced last month.
Moroe than 5,400 people have now signed a petition to save the store.
