A man needed hospital treatment after a fire at a house in Selby.
Firefighters from York and Selby were called to the incident in the Petre Avenue area at 6.30pm last night (Sunday).
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Firefighters in breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.

“The fire resulted in damage to a bed and bed covers.
“One male occupant of the property was taken to hospital for checks after suffering smoke inhalation.”
