Luxury fashion brand to open in York – and they’re hiring!

A new shop is set to open in one of York’s most distinctive buildings.

Women’s fashion brand Wyse London is opening at 35 Stonegate, in what was previously home to Oliver Bonas before it relocated to King’s Square.

Wyse is described as being “for women with a sense of joie de vivre” and make their clothes in “small, limited runs” to achieve their aim of exclusivity and sustainability.

Wyse is also hiring for several positions for their new York shop, including Store Manager, Supervisor, and Style Advisor/Sales Associate. Find out more and how to apply at their website here.

The York store is described to be where ‘historic charm meets modern style’.

The brand was founded by Marielle Wyse in 2017.

Number 35 Stonegate is an historic building. The front dates from the 1400s.

For hundreds of years it was a bookshop, known as ‘At the Sign of the Bible’ – because of the bible hanging over the doorway.

It was from here that the first 200 copies of The Life and Opinions of Tristram Shandy, Gentleman were sold in 1759.
