London restaurant chain on hunt for new site in York

The owner of a London-based restaurant business has been looking at sites in York to open a new venue.

Fulham Shore directors have been checking out locations in the city with a view to open a restaurant here.

The brand operates two chains. Franco Manca is a pizzeria which uses freshly made sour dough for its pizzas, and specialises in Neapolitan-inspired food.

The Real Greek chain serves food from the delicious and healthy diet of the Eastern Mediterranean.

Bosses have been viewing a flurry of sites at cities including York, Newcastle and Manchester.

Some of the potential sites are restaurants closed by the pandemic. They come as “pre-existing fitted” units with lower opening costs – and the group therefore expects a reduction in its capital spending.

“The group continues to be presented with a number of excellent potential retail locations, almost on a daily basis,” it said in a statement.

“The board hopes that Fulham Shore can contribute towards the revival of town centres with new restaurant openings as the Covid-19 restrictions ease.
