The first people are getting ready to move in to the Hudson Quarter – York’s £35 million homes and offices development.

And YorkMix has been on a tour of this swish new address.

Found just across the way from York Station, and with many apartments having views over the City Walls, the Hudson Quarter is proving to be popular with buyers.

So far 40 apartments have been sold pre-completion and nine are under offer.  Apartments are still available, ranging in price from £240,000 to £1.2 million.

The site used to be occupied by the eyesore that was Hudson House, and was once the site of the city’s first railway station.

After the £35 million investment by Palace Capital plc, there are three blocks of apartments, and one of Grade A office space, built by Caddick Construction.

The apartment blocks are all named after stations – Waverley, Victoria and Kings. Internal features include instant hot water, quartz stonework surfaces, high-tech shower controls, filtered water taps, wine coolers and pop up extractors.

There’s also an outside work and leisure space, with its own power supply – added to help anyone who continues to work from home after the pandemic.

Chief executive of Palace Capital, Neil Sinclair, said: “Seeing the finished development vindicates our confidence in the great city of York, and other major regional cities over recent years.

“Hudson Quarter will be a brilliant addition to York and will be a vibrant new place to live and work in the heart of the city and we are proud to have delivered it.”
