Firefighters called in after smoke spotted coming from York front door

Fire crews went to an incident in Clifton, York, after smoke was spotted coming from a front door.

Acomb and York firefighters went to the home on Burdyke Avenue at 9.03am.

A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “All persons were out of the property.

“Crews found a small fire in the kitchen involving a tea towel. Crews removed the item and cleared smoke using a ventilation fan. Advice was given to occupier.”
