Film crews spotted at historic York venue

Film crews have been spotted at one of York’s historic buildings.

They have been at the former Bootham Park hospital. More trucks were seen at Union Terrace car park.

Some of the trucks are from the logistics company Facilities By ADF.

It provides vehicle hire for TV and Film productions, and specialises in support for high end TV and major feature films. And it has supported projects on streaming giants Apple, Netflix, Marvel, NBC Universal, Disney + and Amazon.

Staff are staying tight lipped about what they are filming. But YorkMix reader Suzie Ogden said she had spotted old police cars being used.

And today (Monday), a rack of costumes dating from around the Sixties or Seventies were being rolled in.

Bootham Park would make a great backdrop. Now vacant, the former psychiatric hospital dates from 1774 and is Grade I listed.

It looks imposing from the outside, but has some fantastic interiors, as these pictures from Richard Brigham of York Past & Present show:
