The nominations are out for the English Restaurant Awards 2024 – and York has no fewer than 11 venues on the shortlist.
From Grays Court Hotel to Ambrosia Greek Street Food on Shambles Market, city eateries are scattered across the categories.
We have two noodles bars included in the shortlist, and one representative up for the Romantic Restaurant of the Year.
And when you add in all the North Yorkshire entries, the total reaches 22 nominations!
The awards, sponsored by events company Creative Oceanic, aim to “celebrate, promote and encourage independent restaurants who delight their customers with everything from food to experience, customer service and of course the effort put into building the restaurant industry in England.
“The awards also provide an opportunity to showcase the diversity and quality of English cuisine, which is known for its use of fresh, locally sourced ingredients and traditional cooking techniques.”
