There were problems on the A59 west of York this morning (Tuesday).
Two closures caused significant challenges for rush hour traffic.
The road was closed both ways at Kirk Hammerton from Pool Lane to Church Lane.

it follows a serious accident at about 11.30pm last night, attended by the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
The investigation kept the road closed till late morning. It has since reopened.
Another crash near the Poppleton Park & Ride closed that stretch of road. It too has now reopened.
