York barbers could be turned into Italian deli food takeaway

A barber shop could soon be changed into an Italian takeaway under plans just submitted.

The application is asking for a change of use at Snip Barber, 1 Acomb Court, Front Street.

Planning documents state: “The proposed change of use is to take the empty barber’s shop and convert it into a Italian deli food takeaway.

“The proposed change of use does not alter the scale of the building and the appearance only altered by signage.

“Access to the property remains unchanged.”

Under the plans, submitted by Mateo Focarelli, there would be a sales counter at the front and a kitchen and preparation room behind.

There is no room to sit and eat in.
