Prepare to enter the musical multiverse – as York company aim to take you on an inter-dimensional journey…
Musicals Across The Multiverse reimagines your favourite musical theatre songs like never before. It’s a world where the classics you know and love still exist, just not as you remember them.
Audiences can look forward to unexpected style swaps, gender twists, era-bending reinterpretations, genre mash-ups, and more.
Musicals Across The Multiverse is at Theatre@41, Monkgate, from Wednesday 10 to Saturday 13 September 2025.
Presented by Wharfemede Productions, it follows on from their 2023 concert Musicals in the Multiverse.
The show is co-created by Helen ‘Bells’ Spencer and Matthew Clare, who are also director and musical director respectively.
“Our friendship and shared passion for musical theatre have been at the heart of developing this piece,” said Bells.
“We both love exploring the ‘what ifs’ of familiar stories and pushing the boundaries of traditional performance. That spirit of playful reinvention is what Musicals Across the Multiverse is all about.”
It features choreography from Connie Howcroft, and a large cast of Yorkshire talent.
“Our cast is nothing short of phenomenal,” Bells continued. “They’ve thrown themselves into this wild, imaginative world with energy, humour, and heart. Watching this show come to life with such an amazing group of performers from across Yorkshire has been a total privilege.
“We can’t wait to share this unique, genre-bending show with you. Come and see what happens when musical theatre gets turned on its head!”
Tickets for Musicals Across The Multiverse start from £16 and are available via Theatre@41’s website here.
