Police have carried out a drugs raid in York this morning (Friday).
Officers from the York Outer Neighbourhood Policing Team executed a drugs warrant at a flat in Acomb.
They seized what is believed to be heroin and arrested three people during the operation.
PC Ben Ambler of York police said: “A significant quantity of what is suspected to be a Class A drug were seized from the address along with scales and a large amount of cash.
“As a result, two males aged 56 and 57, and a female aged 49 were arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs and enquiries are ongoing.”
The bags of the suspected heroin will now be sent for forensic analysis.
The force’s Operational Support Unit were also involved in the raid, which was carried out during Neighbourhood Policing Week – a nationwide event to highlight the role of local policing in communities.
The men and woman remain in police custody in connection with Class A drug offences while investigations continue.
PC Ambler added: “We are committed to acting on information provided to us by members of the public to help us tackle the use and supply of illegal drugs in our local communities.”
