The one and only Meadowfest – 40 pics of a brilliant day

Carrying on the theme of the YorkMix summer tour, Meadowfest in Malton delivered even more great entertainment, music, food & drink. But with less rain!

The riverside meadows and gardens of The Talbot Hotel were absolutely packed with families soaking up the (mostly) sun to a fantastic live soundtrack of Eighties, Nineties and Noughties tunes.

Huge and The Y-Street Band belted out Britpop faves which got the crowd going.

This House We Built delivered a rockier road and an Abba tribute band arrival brought the inner dancing queens out in pretty much everyone.

Quite a few left before headliner Chesney Hawkes took to the stage with his band, including younger brother Jodie on drums.

They missed a great set from someone remembered as a one-hit-wonder, who actually has a great voice and sang a mix-tape of covers, new material – and of course The One and Only.

As a very wet July draws to a close, Malton delivered a sunny highlight.
