New to the market are seven kiosks with perforated aluminium doors which will be backlit at night. There’s a new layout, a relaid stone floor and the stalls have been renovated and fitted with new canopies.

Paul Anderson, chair of the Market Traders’ Association and a Shambles Market stallholder, said traders were really pleased with the result.

He said

“We’re all really happy with our new-look market and are positive it will be a success. The work that has been done will really revitalise the market and we look forward to welcoming more customers to our new-look stalls.”

Cllr Crisp, cabinet member for leisure, culture and tourism praised the fantastic new-look.

“Shoppers will benefit immensely from the market’s new and upgraded features and can enjoy making their purchases in a welcoming environment.”
