Families are invited to lace up their trainers and get into the Christmas spirit at York Designer Outlet – as the St Leonard’s Elf Run returns this November.
On Sunday 23 November there will be entertainment and seasonal fun in support of local hospice care, with the chance to get your Christmas shopping done afterwards.
Hosted by YorkMix, the event will kick off at 8:30am with live entertainment, glitter face-painting, and a lively warm-up with Thomas Clubbercise.
At 9:15am, runners will be treated to a snow party before the festive run officially starts.
The route is 1 km per lap, and participants can choose to run, jog or walk as many laps as they like, whether that’s a gentle 1km or a challenge of 5km or 10km.
Every participant will receive a free elf hat, a certificate, and vouchers for a free hot drink and pastry. Discounted ice skating tickets for Yorkshire’s Winter Wonderland will also be available.
Children and adults are welcome, with tickets priced at £10 for adults and £5 for under-16s. Alongside the fun, runners are encouraged to collect sponsorship, helping to raise vital funds to support local hospice services.
“Events like the Elf Run are not only a chance to come together and celebrate the season, but also a way of helping us continue to provide compassionate care for patients and their families when they need it most,” said Clare Meadley, community and events fundraiser at St Leonard’s Hospice.
“We rely on the incredible generosity of our community in order to provide our care and support, and we’re grateful to all taking part.”
With Santa himself expected to make a special appearance, the Elf Run promises a morning of fun, while raising money for a vital local cause.
