Police have issued CCTV of a man they would like to speak to following a theft in York.
It happened at Waterstones in York city centre, between 4pm and 4.30pm on Tuesday 21 November 2023, and involved a man entering the store, placing items from the shelf into his backpack, picking up further items and carrying them underneath his arm, then leaving the store without paying.
Officers are asking members of the public to get in touch if they recognise a man seen on CCTV – although the images are not high quality, they may jog someone’s memory. The man pictured may have important information that could assist the investigation.
