New motoring shop to launch near York – with real cars on display

Unique automotive venue The Motorist is launching an in-house shop – which will feature local and national artisan products.

The popular venue in Sherburn in Elmet already has a themed restaurant, garage and bodyshop, and regularly hosts meets that can see up to 700 cars arrive on site.

Now on Tuesday 2 May, The Motorist will be launching its latest addition The Store.

The Store will feature products from artisan producers such as jams and chutneys, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, and snacks – as well as toys and gifts from brands like Lego and Hotwheels.

The new shop will also continue the automotive theme, with raised classic and modern vehicles on the shelving racks.

The cars on display range from a Ford XR2 to an Aston Martin Vantage – and the centrepiece of the Store will be a restored milk-float displaying an extensive range of confectionery, including a large pick ‘n’ mix selection.

Daniel Spinks, head of retail at The Motorist, said: “This is an exciting time for The Motorist as it continues to evolve to meet the needs of its customers.

“The Store is committed to providing something for everyone, whether you pop in for car-care products to keep your vehicle looking its best or you’re searching for that unique gift for someone special, we’re proud to have created a destination for our customers to purchase artisan products, quality gifts, toys and merchandise.”
