Flooding: Latest warnings and North Yorkshire road closures

The rain may have stopped, but there is still widespread flooding in North Yorkshire.

Combined with the icy temperatures, that is making driving more of a challenge than normal.

There are 17 flood warnings across North Yorkshire, and 26 flood alerts today (Tuesday).

The B1222 is impassable due to flooding both ways from Moor Lane to Naburn Lock.

A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “A number of roads remain closed because of floodwater, please don’t ignore the road closed signs.”

Temperatures are due to stay cold this week, falling to -3°C tonight and -6°C tomorrow night.
