Cyclist injured after being hit by car in York

A cyclist was left needing stitches after he was knocked off his bike by a car in York.

The incident happened between 9.50pm and 10.10pm on Thursday (March 17) The man, aged 25, was cycling along Manor Drive North in Acomb when he heard a car approaching from behind.

The car then took a left turn onto Malvern Avenue, knocking the cyclist off his bike, causing injuries to his face, hands, knees and groin, which required stitches.

Police are keen to trace the driver. Here’s what is known about the car and driver involved.

a Ford Fiesta or Focus
in either a green or blue colour.

The driver was

a woman
with mousey brown or dark blonde hair that was shoulder-length with a box fringe.
