A crash has closed a main road south of York.
The A19 between York and Selby is shut both ways between the York Road turn-off at Riccall and Stillingfleet turn-off near Escrick.
The incident, which was first reported at 3.01pm, is causing severe delays, according to the AA.
Motorists are being urged to avoid the area for the time being.
