Check out new barbecue street food pop up in York

You can try barbecue ‘done better’ at Spark York this weekend.

The unique food hub on Piccadilly is hosting BBQ connoisseurs Wright’s Oak & Smoke all weekend in a special pop-up.

According to their website, Wright’s Oak & Smoke BBQ specialise in BBQ ‘done better’. They take traditional dishes like smoked brisket and pulled pork and add their own twist by using their signature sauces, relishes, and pickles.

The street food company will be serving up a ‘daytime’ and ‘evening’ menu, featuring toasties and sandwiches.

Menu highlights include Brisket on Rye (£9.50) with smoked brisket and house deli mustard served with a gherkin and crisps, a Tuscan Toastie (£9) with Yorkshire rolled pork loin stuffed with sage and rosemary, and Double Cheese & Pickle Melt (£9) with Yorkshire smoked Swaledale, Yoredale Wensleydale, and red onion pickle.

There’s also fruit pie (£5) and a Blackberry and Thyme drink (£4).

If you miss them at Spark this weekend, don’t worry! Wright’s Oak & Smoke BBQ will be back for more pop-ups later this year, or you can find them at York Food Festival from Friday 19 September.
