A car was destroyed by what is thought to be a deliberate fire in York early this morning (Saturday).
It happened on Corban Lane, Wigginton at 3.46am.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “A crew from Acomb used a hose reel jet and breathing apparatus to extinguish a car fire on a country lane.

“No persons were with the car and the incident was passed to the police for investigation as it was likely deliberate.
“The car was 100% destroyed by fire.”
