There’s a brand new Ghost coming to York. On Sunday 26 October at 9am, Bettys will release The Starlight Club Ghost, a limited-edition Black Box chocolate ghost filled with champagne and milk chocolate ganache, finished with a pink lustre. Inspired by Bettys’ journey from its founding in Harrogate in 1919 to the opening of its York café in 1937, the ghost evokes a spirit of post-war optimism and elegance.
The Ghost is born of a unique collaboration between Bettys and York Ghosts Merchants. Together the two businesses, both situated in York, proudly bring together heritage and craftmanship, with the launch of exclusive new products to engage and entice curious customers in 2025. Bettys has taken inspiration from two of Yorkshire Ghosts Merchants most iconic products – the Little Ghost and the Black Box Edition Ghost.
This October, Bettys introduced a Trio of Chocolate Ghosts, handcrafted by its award-winning Craft Bakery using the world’s finest Swiss milk chocolate. These edible creations replicate the York Ghost Merchants’ signature Little Ghosts in both shape and size.
In parallel, York Ghost Merchants will offer 60 exclusive Starlight Club White Star Ghosts, available only to holders of a special pink and gold ticket card. These cards will be randomly included in the black envelopes accompanying each chocolate ghost.
The Starlight Club Ghost will be available only at Bettys Café Tea Room in York, from 9am on Sunday 26 October.
