Firefighters responded to a smouldering pile of wood that had been lit deliberately by youths.
It took place in Westfield Wood, in Haxby, at approximately 3:55 pm today (Sunday).
The crew from York used knapsack sprayers to extinguish the fire.
As the fire was started deliberately, North Yorkshire Police were informed.
