York patissier and North Yorkshire distillery combine to create ‘elegant treat’

Two Yorkshire-based brands have teamed up to launch an exclusive tasty collaboration.

Award-winning Master Pâtissier Florian Poirot, renowned for his delicate French creations, has partnered with Yorkshire’s Filey Bay Whisky, the county’s first single malt whisky distillery, to create a unique collection of macarons.

The limited edition macarons will launch on Thursday 18 September, and will be available in limited qualities at Florian Poirot’s boutiques in York and Malton.

They will also be available online.

The tasty creation features ‘carefully balanced notes of Filey Bay’s signature whisky, paired with Florian’s artistry in patisserie’, with the result being an ‘elegant treat’.

“This collaboration is about bringing together two worlds — the heritage of French patisserie and the innovation of Yorkshire’s whisky-making. Filey Bay’s flavour profile is exceptional, and it was a joy to create something that truly complements it,” said Florian Poirot.

Florian is a pastry chef from Nancy, a city in North Eastern of France. At the age of 14, he joined Nancy Culinary School and achieved a ‘Master in Pastry and Confectionery’.

After moving to Yorkshire he became the UK Pastry Champion.
