York allotments vandalised causing £500 damage

Police are investigating after an allotment in York was vandalised.

Sheds have been damaged and broken into at the allotments on Boroughbridge Road.

Damage worth £500 has been caused.

It was reported on 29 June but is believed to have happened at some point between then and 5 June while the allotment holder was away.

A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “We’re appealing to anyone who has any information about the damage including other allotment holders who may have witnessed any suspicious activity and any who may have CCTV cameras on their site, to get in touch.”
