York City supporters who took to the field for the final match at Bootham Crescent on Saturday have helped raised £4,000 for charity.
A total of 32 play on the pitch spots were purchased for the ‘Reds vs Blues’ game on the hallowed turf which ended 8-6 in favour of the Blues.
Peter Nowak (og), Curtis Roberts, Chris Tune, James Keller, Toby Joynson and Chris Brooksbank (x3) scored for the Blues.
Joe Scargill, James Brown, Xav Edmonds (og), George Allen and Tom Haugh (x2) were on the scoresheet for the Reds.
Further money was raised through the special edition programme (still available to buy) and donations to the Virtual Turnstile via the Livestream.
All the proceeds will be split between the York Teaching Hospital Charity and the York City Football Club Academy.
