It happened on James Street at 12.20pm on Sunday (21 September).
Police said it “involved a vehicle mounting the pavement near pedestrians in order to undertake traffic.

“We’re particularly appealing for dash-cam footage of the vehicle.”
James Street has become notorious for traffic jams as cars queue to turn into the Hazel Court Household Waste Recycling Centre.
That’s a particular problem at weekends.
City of York Council is looking to bring in a booking system, saying the traffic has led to safety concerns for road users and pedestrians, and disruption to nearby businesses and council operations.
