A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “A crew from Acomb responded to a report of a four-vehicle road traffic collision.

“On arrival of crews, all occupants were out of their vehicles. Crews carried out scene safety and made one vehicle safe.”

Traffic on the northbound lane was very slow between the Moor Lane roundabout and the Wetherby Road roundabout.

But the road is now back to normal with traffic flowing freely.
