Three people injured in attack on York bridge

Police have made two arrests after three people were injured in a city centre attack.

Officers were called to Ouse Bridge at 1.40am today.

As YorkMix reported earlier, the bridge was cordoned off for several hours while crime scene investigators did their work. It is now open again.

Two men and a woman suffered injuries in the incident. One of the men was taken to hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries.

A man in his 20s and a man in his 40s, both from the York area, have been arrested on suspicion of assault and are currently in police custody.

A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “We have been carrying out enquiries and are appealing for any witnesses who have not yet spoken to us to get in touch.”
