Three-car crash at North Yorkshire crossroads – Woman cut free from wreckage

Emergency services were called to a three-car crash at a Ryedale crossroads last night (Sunday).

Fire crews from Malton, Helmsley and Huntington were called to the collision on the B1257 at Slingsby at 6.38pm.

They found two walking wounded – a man and a girl. But a woman was trapped in the rear of a car with suspected spinal injuries.

A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “This female was released from car by fire crews after they had stabilised the vehicle then used e-cutters to perform the rescue.

“She was handed over to the care of the paramedics together with the other two casualties.”
