It has been confirmed that Lidl is to open a new store in York.
YorkMix revealed in June that the budget retailer was eyeing up a store at the Clifton Moor Retail Park.
Now new documents lodged with City of York Council have confirmed it.
Lidl is to move into what is now the Food Warehouse on Hurricane Way.
The business has submitted two planning applications to change the store. One is for alterations to the shopfront and to amend the rear elevations.
Planning documents state: “This application seeks to secure planning permission for a number of minor works to the shopfront and external façade of Unit 3 in order to facilitate its occupation by Lidl.”
A new entrance and new doors are would be added.

The second planning application is to reconfigure the car park and instal a trolley bay.
“By reconfiguring the car park to meet the needs of a modern foodstore, this will facilitate the re-occupation of the unit by Lidl,” documents say.
Food Warehouse has applied for planning permission to move next door to Unit 2 Hurricane Way – the former home to Smyths Toys. The toy shop closed when Smyths relocated to Monks Cross.
Lidl named Clifton as one of five areas of York where it wanted to open a store in April last year.
It has two stores operating in the city at the moment, one on James Street and another on Thanet Road, Acomb.
A new Lidl is currently being built on the site of the old TK Maxx, next door to Sainsbury’s, at Monks Cross.
