The 30mph speed limit that was in place on sections of the A171 and B1416 following the Langdale and Fylingdales wildfires has now been removed.
The risk of smoke still remains so motorists are advised to continue driving with caution.
There is also potential risk of wild animals running across the highway, due to fencing being removed or damaged to allow emergency services tackle the fire, so please remain vigilant.
Although the 30mph restriction has been removed, some advisory signage will still be in place and lay-bys will remain closed.
Meanwhile there is this message from The North York Moors National Park:
“The park covers an area of more than 550 square miles, there is absolutely no reason to be near Fylingdales Moor at this time.
“Do not walk or cycle in areas damaged by fire.
“We have heard extremely concerning reports from North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service that some people are choosing to ignore the notices in place.
“The wildfire is still a major incident. There may be unexploded ordnance present in the area and a continued risk of flare-ups.
“Rights of Way across Fylingdales Moor are closed and Open Access remains suspended.”
