Shed destroyed in ‘arson attack’ at York allotments

A shed has been destroyed in a fire at a York allotments.

Firefighters were called to the incident off Scarcroft Road at 1.39pm today (Saturday).

A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crews located a fire to a small shed on an allotment garden.

“The fire resulted in 100% fire damage to the shed and contents. Crews extinguished the remaining fire using knapsack sprayers and a hose pipe on the allotments.

“The fire was believed to have been lit deliberately, details were passed to the police.”
