** UPDATE: The road is now open again **
There’s been a serious crash on the A19 north of York this afternoon.
It is on the southbound carriageway close to the Tollerton crossroads.
Unconfirmed reports say it’s a head-on collision between an HGV and a car.

Eyewitnesses say the Yorkshire Air Ambulance is at the scene, along with multiple police, fire and ambulance crews.
Traffic is reported to be at a standstill in the area.
North Yorkshire Police posted: “Please be aware there is a road closure on A19 Easingwold near the Tollerton cross roads whilst we deal with a serious collision.
“Please avoid the area if you can, and use the north and south bound diversions where possible, while emergency services work at the scene.”
