Emergency services were called to a deliberately set fire on a York street yesterday, the second incident in the space of two days.
A York fire crew responded to the report of a mattress on fire in a wooded area off Rawdon Avenue, Tang Hall, at 5.12 pm yesterday (Tuesday).
It follows a similar incident the previous evening (Monday 2 June), when a wheelie bin was set alight on the same street.
A North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue spokesperson said: “The fire was out on the arrival of crews, they used knapsack sprayer to dampen down the remaining hotspots and surrounding area.”
Due to the nature of the incident, details have been passed to the police.
