A crash closed a busy road in York this afternoon (Tuesday).
Emergency services were called to the incident on Melrosegate, close to its junction with Green Dykes Lane and Hull Road Park.
According to the fire service, which was called out at 4.07pm, two vehicles were involved.

One of them was a Mini Cooper, which local people said ended on its roof. It deployed its airbags in the collision which left its front badly damaged.
One woman was helped to safety by people who rushed to the scene after hearing the bang.

A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “York and Selby responded to a two vehicle road traffic collision.
“All persons were out prior to their arrival and in the hands of paramedics. Crews provided scene safety before leaving the incident.”
The Mini Cooper has now been removed from the scene and Melrosegate has reopened.
