A popular open space in York, College Green, has been fenced off.
College Green along with its seating and the path linking the Minster with Deangate will be closed for several weeks.
The Minster Gardens Team have put a notice up saying its for restoration and routine maintenance. It will allow the grass to recover from the heavy footfall of the season.
The area was very busy during the summer offering shade from large trees, a good view of York Minster and three cafes and a pub next door.
